The new Lowther TP2 is a step closer to perfection from the original TP1. We have made some changes to the original TP1 design and improvements not only to the build quality, but to all the materials used in the construction of this fabulous corner horn. These loudspeakers are hand built in Great Britain and designed to last generations.

The Legendary Folded Corner Horn Returns

The TP2 is based on one of the legendary early folded corner horn designs. It has a lot in common with the AudioVector & the Lowther-Hegeman and uses the dual-loaded horn principle. This means the diaphragm has mechanical resistance imposed to it's back & front surface by the expansion of the top & bass horns. This results in high efficiency and a 'scale' of sound typical of the physically larger horns.

The TP2 is designed to work best in larger rooms of 25 - 30 sq.m upwards.

All Lowther driver units will fit inside the cabinet including the PM4A. We recommend the PM4A with the Lowther Super Tweeter.

The TP2 in combination with your choice of drive units and equally matched to a comparable amplifier (especially with low output valves) - you can expect an excellent musical event. We have a wide range of choice available to allow us to 'tailor' the sound to an individual taste, so a visit to the Listening Room to audition is recommended for anyone wanting a pair handmade to order.

Made with the best quality Birch Plywood
The TP2 is made from responsibly sourced Birch Plywood throughout.

Panel thickness increased to 18mm
All outside panel thickness has increased to 18mm. The interior labyrinth construction is also 18mm thick.

Only High End Accessories
New metal gold coloured badges cast from 1950's originals (only fitted to Lowther-built cabinets) Easily removable Nexia cloth grilles with split dimensions & box plinths for balanced appearance. Internal wiring 1.5mm tinned stranded copper. Binding posts are good quality Nickel-plated Brass, for wire clamp & 4mm plug connection. Auxiliary grounding for 4mm plug available when ordering.

Modern Materials
We use modern materials (adhesives, sealants, damping materials, paints & lacquers) to improve acoustic properties & enhance the reliability & long term investment value of the cabinet.

Bespoke Veneers
Bespoke matched veneers standard on all new Lowther speakers. Vacuum-laminated top horn curves with cavities damped. A square mouth-plate option is available.

Recommended Drive Units
We recommend complimenting the TP2's with the Lowther PM4A and the Super Tweeter.
